The new album will feature 15 different covers of songs that the former Jam man says he has "carried with him for years."
Paul Weller has announced new covers album Find El Dorado, which is set to release on July 25 and will include a cover of 'One Last Cold Kiss', a song made famous in this part of the world by Christy Moore.
The English singer's 15-track record also feature covers of The Kinks, The Bee Gees, and The Flying Burrito Brothers.
'One Last Cold Kiss' was written by songwriters Gail Collins and Felix Pappalardi and featured on Moore’s Traveller (1999) album. Felix Pappalardi was bassist with the band Mountain, whose biggest hit was with 'Mississippi Queen', which reached No.21 in the US Billboard charts, in 1970. Pappalardi was shot and killed by his wife – and co-writer of 'One Last Cold Kiss' – Gail Collins Pappalardi, on 17 April 1983. she was convicted of "criminally negligent homicide."
Find El Dorado was recorded in Weller's Black Barn Studio in Surrey and is described as a "a map of his emotional and musical DNA" that sees him "revisit songs that have long lived in the back of his mind – now reimagined with fresh meaning and a sense of reverence."
"These are songs I’ve carried with me for years," the former Jam frontman explained. "They’ve taken on new shapes over time. And now felt like the moment to share them."

The record is named after Derry singer Eamon Friel's track 'El Dorado', which also features on the album and was recorded by Weller with Noel Gallagher playing guitar.
