Blossoms announce Belfast and Dublin shows

Blossoms have announced headline shows in Belfast's Ulster Hall on Monday, November 23, followed by Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on Tuesday, November 24.

The newly announced shows come ahead of the Blossoms' biggest headline tour to date, seeing them make stops in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow and following the announcement of their sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake, set for release on October 2.

The band recently shared a single from the album, 'Meet Me In Love', accompanied by a music video starring Maya Jama and Callum Scott-Howells.

"Meet Me in Love' was written on a songwriting trip to the Lake District with Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire," says Blossoms' Tom Ogden on the new track.

"As often happens, it was the last day and we'd pretty much accepted that there probably weren't any more songs left to write. We started messing around with a simple two-chord disco groove and, within a couple of hours, the whole thing seemed to fall into place."

Songs From The Wedding Cake was recorded at Tilehouse Studios with producer Shawn Lee, known internationally as one half of the London duo Young Gun Silver Fox.

Coming ten years on from their Mercury Prize-nominated debut, the album takes its name from a Stockport nickname for the Victorian Town Hall where Ogden got married.
