Fontaines D.C. reveal fifth album Dopamine Chamber and release 'Marianne'
They previously performed the lead single 'Marianne' at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Spain last week.
Fontaines D.C. have announced their upcoming fifth album Dopamine Chamber today, out October 16, following their cryptic teasers.
The Dublin band previously performed the lead single 'Marianne', released today, at their first show of 2026 last week. The song is partially inspired by the 2024 thriller series Ripley.
They also played the unreleased track 'Six Shot Morning' at the gig, which featured in their announcements posted to social media on August 16, revealing the album.
The alternative rock band consists of frontman Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan and Tom Coll.
"The album itself is a dopamine chamber,” says Chatten. “You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.”

The 11-track record is being produced by James Ford, who worked with the band on Romance in 2024. They recorded in between London, the English countryside and Palermo.
“Our albums have always questioned a sense of place,” adds bassist Deegan.
“First Dublin, then being away from Dublin, and then trying to find the romance elsewhere. On this record, the question became: where do you escape to?”
Fontaines D.C. have a wide catalogue of genre blending music with five studio albums. Their post-punk debut Dogrel in 2019 gifted hits 'Boys in the Better Land' and 'Big', followed by A Hero's Death in 2020. Skinty Fia in 2022 became their first No. 1 in both Ireland and the UK and earned a Brit Award for International Group in 2023, while Romance, featuring singles 'Starburster' and 'Favourite', received two nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
They are set to headline Electric Picnic on August 30, where it is rumored there will be a tour announcement.
