Pat Moran R.I.P.
The record producer and engineer has passed away in the UK.
Hot Press is saddened to learn of the death of Pat Moran, the 63-year-old producer and engineer who worked on such classic albums as Queen’s A Night At The Opera, Robert Plant’s The Principle Of Moments and Iggy Pop’s Soldier.
He was also lead singer in Spring, a first generation prog rock outfit who toured with the Velvet Underground and whose ranks included future Dire Straits member David Withers.
From mixed Dublin and Mayo stock, Pat contracted Pick’s disease, a degenerative form of dementia in 1998, and had required full-time care for the past six years.
