Original Status Quo for Dublin
Status Quo bring their classic line-up – Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan – to the Dublin O2 on April 12 for a final heads down no nonsense mindless boogie fling.
“Playing together again after all those years was amazing,” Rossi says of the last hurrah gigs so far. “It wasn’t perfect, I guess I always strive for that, but the chemistry was there and the crowds were just incredible. These new dates are an opportunity to kick it up a notch and to get the gang back together for one final blast.”
It’s possibly hard to imagine now, but in the early ‘70s Quo were every bit as credible a hard rock outfit as your Led Zeppelins and Frees with the likes of ‘Down Down’, ‘Caroline’ and ‘Whatever You Want’ leading to a huge spike in denim sales.
In addition to their reunion gigs, the band have assembled their own James Bond pastiche, Bula Quo!, and shot a commercial for a brand of Australian mince.
