Green Lung announce headline show in the Academy
The show is part of their Dance to the Grave Tour MMXXVI.
British stoner metal band Green Lung have announced a headline show in The Academy, Dublin, on December 19.
The tour announcement arrives alongside news of Green Lung's fourth album Necropolitan, due for release on September 11.
Produced by Tom Dalgety, who previously worked with Ghost and Opeth, the album was recorded in Rockfield Studios in Wales. The studio has previously been used for recording by artists such as Queen, Oasis, and Coldplay.
According to the band, Necropolitan takes inspiration from from London's gothic history and occult stories, a theme the band have been following since their formation.
"The funeral bell is tolling, the ravens have left the tower - we are delighted to finally announce our fourth album", said the band on social media.
"A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind. Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore, heavy music scene and Magnificent Seven Cemeteries of our birthplace as a band, the city of London".
Green Lung emerged from London's heavy rock scene playing to small audiences in local pubs and self-releasing their debut EP Free the Witch in 2018.
Since signing with Nuclear Blast, the band have released three studio albums: Woodland Rites (2019), Black Harvest (2021), and This Heathen Land (2023). The latter reached No.1 on the UK's Official Rock and Metal Album Chart.
They will be joined by special guests High on Fire, and Gnome.
Tickets go on sale here, Friday at 9am.
