Olaf Tyaransen reading in Galway tonight
Hot Press writer Olaf Tyaransen will be appearing in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop in Galway at 6pm this evening as part of Culture Night.
He will be reading from his story Don’t You Know Who I Am? from the acclaimed Doire Press anthology Galway Stories (which has just been reprinted).
Joining Olaf on the stage will be fellow Galway Stories contributors John Walsh, Hugo Kelly, Conor Montague and Aileen Armstrong. Galway Bay FM will be broadcasting live from Charlie Byrne’s throughout the evening, hosted by The Arts Show’s Vinnie Brown.
In related news, Olaf has adapted Don’t You Know Who I Am? (which also appeared in Hot Press) into a short film screenplay. Dublin company Screenworks – currently riding high with the RTE drama series Amber – have the script in pre-production, and they hope to shoot the film on the streets of Galway before the end of the year.
