Saul Williams announces new album Leap Life
Lead single 'Conspiracy' out now
Saul Williams has announced his new album, Leap Life, due out on August 28. Lead single ‘Conspiracy’, featuring Gonjasufi and Moor Mother, is out now.
It marks his first solo full-length album in seven years and his return to Big Dada, the label that released his earliest solo work.
Williams describes the record as an attempt to connect with the dead.
"We're going to need those spirits," he says.
"There's an understanding that the soldiers in our struggle are not only the visible ones. There are people standing and fighting with us that we may not see."
Robert Del Naja, a member of trip-hop collective Massive Attack, will also appear on the album, among others.
Williams is known for his blend of poetry and alternative hip hop. He also starred in the 1998 film Slam and in the Academy Award-winning Sinners. He has also released his debut graphic novel Martyr Loser King this year.
His album Saul Williams Meets Carlos Niño & Friends at TreePeople was nominated for a Grammy Award.
