Fraser T. Smith’s Future Utopia announce new album Being Human
New single 'The Wire' out now
Future Utopia have announced their third studio album, Being Human, set for release on October 23. The second single from the record, ‘The Wire’, is out now.
Future Utopia is the musical project of producer Fraser T. Smith, who won a Grammy Award for his work on Adele’s 21 and received a nomination for his contributions to Sam Smith’s In the Lonely Hour.
The new track follows lead single ‘Spiritual Machines’, which was released in March.
“This track explores the tension between connection and disconnection in an increasingly digital world,” Smith says about the new release.
The album consists of nine tracks, each exploring the meaning of being human and the influence of technology on everyday life. The record was created in collaboration with artists including Sergio Pizzorno, Alysia Harris and Yomi Sode.
The group’s debut album, 12 Questions, was self-released in 2020 and featured a star-studded lineup including Stormzy, Bastille and Idris Elba. Smith won an Ivor Novello Award for the track ‘Children of the Internet’.
“Ultimately, this album isn't about technology. It's about people, It's about choosing connection over distraction, curiosity over certainty, and humanity over convenience. It's about being human.”, says Smith about the upcoming record.
