The joint reading will be at Hodges Figgis Bookshop on Dawson Street
Hot Press ‘Writer-At-Large’ Olaf Tyaransen and Horslips legend Eamon Carr will be teaming up to give a joint reading in Hodges Figgis Bookshop on Dawson Street on Thursday, November 14.
Eamon will be reading from his recently published book, Deirdre Unforgiven: A Journal of Sorrows (Doire Press), while Olaf will be reading some choice celebrity extracts from Selected Recordings: 2000-2010(Hot Press Books) and also from his short story ‘Don’t You Know Who I Am?’ (originally published in the Doire anthology Galway Stories).
The reading begins at 7pm and admission is free.
Shooting of a film version of ‘Don’t You Know Who I Am?’, written by Tyaransen, begins in Galway next week. Produced by Screenworks, the short film will be directed by Paul Duane – the award-winning maker of Barbaric Genius, Natan and Very Extremely Dangerous.
Alabama 3 frontman Larry Love stars as Rick Rossi, the grieving rock star trying – unsuccessfully – to get some peace and quiet in the City of the Tribes. The film will also feature appearances by Amanda Brunker, Propeller Palms frontman Paul Butler, and celebrated Dublin cartoonist and poet Tom Mathews.
