Massive Attack pay tribute to Fontaines D.C. manager Trevor Dietz
"Its a privilege to stand alongside Fontaines DC, Kneecap and other Irish rebels", said the trip-hop collective
Massive Attack paid tribute to late Fontaines D.C. manager Trevor Dietz during their set at Primavera Sound Porto last Saturday.
Before performing ‘Safe From Harm’ with vocalist Deborah Miller, member Robert Del Naja took a moment to remember Dietz and speak in support of Palestine.
“ It's a privilege to be here tonight, thank you for having us […] And this song, as always, is in solidarity with the people of Palestine.”
”And also dedicated to a great man Trevor Dietz and with big love to Fontaines DC. And we say its a privilege to stand alongside Fontaines DC, Kneecap and other Irish rebels in defiance of division and racism and genocide. It's a privilege and an honour”.
“Rest in power Trev. Palestina Livre”
Dietz began managing Fontaines D.C. in 2018 and played a key role in helping the band gain international recognition. Following his death, the band described him as “the sixth member of the band”.
Before working with Fontaines D.C., Dietz was active in the Dublin music scene in the early 2000s and also worked with The Workman's Club.
He was also a strong and outspoken supporter of Palestine, frequently using his platform to raise awareness of the issue.
