Oasis to reform?
Rumours are swirling that the Brothers Gallagher have reached a "gentlemen's agreement."
It was only last week that Johnny Marr and Paul Weller were expressing how terrific it was to see their pal Noel Gallagher flying solo and doing so well with his High Flying Birds – and away from Oasis – but now it seems he might be planning to get the old band back together.
Whatever about Noel's success with his debut and now current Chasing Yesterday album and tour, his brother Liam is a bit at a loose end following problems in his personal life and the end of Beady Eye.
Over the weekend, the Daily Mirror reported that the two brothers have reached a decision to reform Oasis, with 2016 dates in mind.
The group famously split in acrimonious circumstances six years ago and relations (publicly anyway) have remained frosty since, but Liam did tweet a photo of himself holding a backstage pass for a Noel Gallagher gig last month, suggesting tensions had eased considerably.
Gallagher has previous told Q Magazine: "As long as everybody is still alive and still has their hair, it’s always a possibility. But only for the money."
The Daily Mirror's "well-placed source" says: "It's early days in terms of the details, but Noel and Liam are back on good terms and ready to give things another go. Nothing is signed but it's what you might call a gentlemen's agreement between them.
"Ultimately they’re family and whatever has gone on before can be sorted out – they're very close beneath all the bluster."
Take the tabloid reports with a large pinch of salt, but also watch this space...
