NUIG to host spring trad festival
Frankie Gavin, Máirtín O’Connor and Mary McPartlan are just some of the performers set to appear at the Aula Maxima in NUI Galway this Thursday as part of special night of traditional music, storytelling and dance.
The evening will also feature musicians Ronan Browne, Arty McGlynn, and sean-nós singer Róisín Elsafty. The show will be unique in that each performer will give a short talk on their performance giving an insight in to their respective art forms. Sean-nós dancer Róisín Ní Mhainín and traditional storyteller Fiona Kelly will also perform in their own traditional styles.
Doors will be open from 7pm and tickets are available on the door. Admission is free for NUI Galway students and €10 for members of the public.
The event is part of NUI Galway’s 'Arts in Action' programme and forms part of the College's 'Múscailt' spring arts festival which runs from February 5-9.
