Northern Irish success at The Oscars
The Shore won the live action short category.
The Artist might have been the overwhelming winner last night at the 84th Academy Awards (scooping five awards, including Best Picture), but there is a golden gong returning to Irish waters this morning, in the hands of a former Hot Press writer.
The Shore, a short film about the reunion of two childhood friends in Northern Ireland, triumped in the Best Short Film (Live Action) category, bringing the famous gold statue to delighted filmmakers Terry George - who wrote for Hot Press before venturing behind the camera - and Oorlagh George.
