No Meteor Music Awards this year
The event will take a break in 2011
After a decade of award shows that raised over €1 million for charities, organisers of The Meteor Ireland Music Awards have just announced their decision not to produce the show this year. They also went on to thank everyone who has been involved in the event over the years.
It has not been confirmed whether it will return in 2012.
The Awards, which first kicked off in 2001, have long championed both homegrown and international talent, with the likes of Elton John, Snoop Dogg and Amy Winehouse all having performed alongside such Irish pop heavyweights as The Script, Westlife and Boyzone.
