Irish jazz and blues man Nigel Mooney kicks off his album launch tour in Dublin tomorrow
A night of quality indigenous jazz and blues is on offer tomorrow, June 9, at Dublin's Crawdaddy venue when Nigel Mooney launches his debut album All My Love's In Vain.
No stranger to the Dublin jazz scene, Mooney was a founding member of 80s trailblazers The Gripewater Blues Band, whose career highlights include playing support for B.B. King and working with such legends as Dr. John, Louisiana Red and Lowell Fulson.
As guitarist, vocalist and bandleader - not to mention composer of his largely original debut album - Mooney is now set to take his debut album on a promotional tour of Ireland.
Joined on stage by Greg Felton (piano), Ruaidhri O'Donovan (bass) and Shane O'Donovan (drums), the Nigel Mooney Quartet will play the following tour dates:
June 9 @ Crawdaddy, Dublin (with support from Richie Buckley)
June 11 @ The Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva, Co. Cavan
June 19 @ Loughcrew Jazz & Blues Festival, Co. Meath
June 18 @ Ardgillan Castle, Co. Dublin (supporting Meatloaf)
June 24 @ Dolan’s (upstairs), Limerick
June 25 @ An Cruiscin Lan, Cork
June 26 @ Guitar Festival @ Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin
June 28 @ Roundstone Festival @ The Shamrock, Connemara
July 1 @ The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton
July 22 @ Model Arts Centre, Sligo
July 26 @ Vartry House, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow
Available this Friday, June 10, on Rubyworks, All My Love's In Vain will be reviewed in the next issue of Hot Press.
