Niall Breslin Book Goes to Top of Irish Book Charts
Having led a discussion at Electric Picnic, the Voice of Ireland coach outpaced both Paul Williams and legendary Irish playwright Sean O’Casey to get to No.1!
Niall Breslin has shot to the top of the Irish Book bestsellers list. The former frontman with The Blizzards – soon to be reformed we are told! – and coach on RTÉ television’s The Voice Of Ireland hit the No. 1 spot in the Paperback Non Fiction category in this week’s charts, with his first book, Me and My Mate Jeffery.
The book deals with the impact of depression and panic on his life to date. A hugely honest and revealing account of what it is like to be constantly assailed by demons despite the trappings of success, it raced to the No.1 spot ahead of two books by crime correspondent Paul Williams (including Almost The Perfect Murder: The Killing of Elaine O’Hara) which is at No.3, and a new edition of Sean O’Casey’s The Plough and the Stars, which is at No.2…
Me and My Mate Jeffery is published by Hachette Books Ireland.
Breslin, who has been campaigning on the issue for the past couple of years, led a highly intense discussion of the challenges surrounding mental health in Ireland at Electric Picnic recently.
