New York street to be named in ATCQ's Phife Dawg's honour
The corner of Linden Boulevard and 192nd Street in his native neighbourhood to be renamed "Malik 'Phife Dawg' Taylor Way"
Earlier this year, we lost Phife Dawg, whom many consider a true East Coast titan. His native neighbourhood - St. Albans in Queens, New York - seems to agree.
A street in St. Albans will be renamed "Malik 'Phife Dawg' Taylor Way" in honour of the A Tribe Called Quest MC. His name will grace the intersection of 192nd Street and Linden Boulevard, the latter of which he namechecked in songs like 'Check the Rhime' and 'Steve Biko'.
R.I.P. Phife. Let's kick it back to the days on the boulevard of Linden, when The Abstract and The Five Footer would kick routines.
