New radio documentary on The Frank and Walters will premiere this month
The audio documentary will premiere on RTÉ Gold on St. Patrick's Day.
The Frank and Walters will be honoured with a radio documentary titled We'll Always Be Shouting For You.
Produced by Paul McDermott, the hour-long program will span the band's career, from their beginnings in Cork City to their present-day gigging, and feature interviews with band members.
We'll Always Be Shouting For You is McDermott's eighth audio documentary. He has previously covered Cork bands Microdisney and The Sultans of Ping.
The documentary is co-narrated by McDermott and 'Irish' Jack Lyons, author of A Renewed Interest in Reading, a 2007 biography of the band.
The Frank and Walters were founded in 1989. Their 1992 single 'After All' reached no. 5 on the Irish Singles Chart and no. 11 on the UK Singles Chart. They have released eight studio albums, the most recent being 2016's Songs for the Walking Wounded.
In 2024, the band were awarded Cork Person of the Year by the Lord Mayor of Cork and the Mayor of Cork County.
We'll Always Be Shouting For You will premiere on RTÉ Gold this St. Patrick's Day.
The Frank and Walters will embark on an Irish tour this October to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their second album, Grand Parade. The album will get its first vinyl release in June via Last Night From Glasgow.
