New Frank & Walters book to be published
Two Leeside legends for the price of one is the deal as Who acolyte ‘Irish’ Jack Lyons pens a new tome about The Frank And Walters entitled A Renewed Interest In Reading.
The man who inspired the character of Jimmy in Quadrophenia and was further immortalised by Roger Daltrey & Co. on ‘Happy Jack’, Lyons, a postman, first encountered the Franks when he delivered letters to the communal house they were living in.
A close friendship ensued, with Jack present at all their landmark gigs including some spectacularly rowdy nights in Sir Henry’s!
