New High Llamas album
Sean O'Hagan & Co. return with the cool summery pop of Talahomi Way.
The High Llamas, whose ranks include the godlike Sean O’Hagan, return to the fray this week with Talahomi Way, their first album since 2007’s Can Cladders.
Mixed by Stereolab’s Tim Gane, its standouts include ‘Berry Adams’, ‘Wander, Jack Wander’, ‘Take My Hand’, ‘Woven And Rolled’, ‘Fly Baby, Fly’ and ‘Crazy Connector’.
A founding member of ‘80s Cork pop mavericks Microdisney – if ever a band deserved the deluxe reissue treatment, it’s them – O’Hagan has been plying his Brian Wilson-esque trade with the Llamas for the past 18-years and also worked with the likes of Gruff Rhys and Sondre Lechre along the way.
