The making of the album will be the subject of a HBO miniseries and features contributions from The Eagles' Joe Walsh, Fugazi's Ian MacKaye, Buddy Guy, Kiss' Paul Stanley and Heart's Nancy Wilson.
American rockers Foo Fighters released a statement announcing their upcoming, currently untitled, eight studio album, their first since 2011's Wasting Light.
Focused on in the miniseries, the album was recorded in eight iconic studios in eight different cities in the United States (Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, DC). Each song on the album and episode of the series will focus on the regional identity of the respective studio and city, from the bands that recorded before in them to the city's wider influence on music.
