Mykki Blanco to play Dublin show celebrating release of upcoming album Café Paradiso
Tickets for Mykki Blanco's Dublin show go on sale tomorrow at 10 am.
American rapper and performer Mykki Blanco will perform a live show at The Sound House, Dublin on October 20. This will celebrate the release of his upcoming album Café Paradiso, due to come out September 4.
The show is part of a larger tour featuring dates in Hamburg, Germany, Paris, France and Bristol, UK.
Since Blanco’s first album release in 2016, he has had collaborations with Madonna, Charli XCX and Kanye West. The last time Blanco performed in Dublin was in 2022 at Lost Lane as part of another European tour. But, he has been seen at festivals and shows in Ireland long before that.
In a 2013 review of the Forbidden Fruit Festival, Hot Press described the artist, “Imagine Marilyn Manson in a cage fight with Tricky, and you’ll have some idea of the rap ‘n’ roll craziness the [then] 27-year-old whips up. Pay us another visit soon, Mykki.”
But, according to Blanco, this album is unlike his previous work. When asked which earlier versions of himself appear in it, Blanco replied, “None.”
“Café Paradiso is a record for artsy kids,” Blanco said. “For my cosmopolitan aesthetes to sit alone in a café and work on crafting the life of their dreams, or just make sense of it.”
