Morrissey: Follow The Smiths' Twitter Account “at your peril”

Morrissey has never been a fan of social media. In 2014, someone opened a Twitter account under his name and started posting very Morrissey-esque tweets in 2014.

More recently, a Smiths Twitter account has been irking the singer and now he's taken to his semi-official site, True-To-You.net to make a statement distancing himself from the whole thing.

"A Smiths/Morrissey Google alerts/Twitter account has been opened by Warner UK," the statement reads. "Morrissey would like to stress that this account has not been sanctioned by him and has no connection to him. Follow it at your peril."

Some fans were hopeful enough to believe that the account signified that The Smiths were getting back together but Warner Bros. have confirmed that the account is purely to “celebrate the history and music of the Smiths."
