Moby: "Move" (Mute)
I have yet to drop an E or even attend a rave, so my acquaintances who do so tell me that I can't really appreciate rave music, that I won't ever feel the exhilaration that letting my limbs go a.w.o.l. while in the company of fifteen hundred strangers brings or hear my pulse thudding at the back of my skull at 115 b.p.m. And they're right, but that doesn't stop me coming back to 'Move', and especially to the flip, 'All That I Need Is To Be Loved', where you can bask in the beats and the hypnotic synth loops and even - almost uniquely for rave - listen to an anguished vocal which isn't completely superfluous. Or you can "chill out" (that's jargon) to 'The Rain Falls and the Sky Shudders', which is 'Riders on the Storm' without the portentous Jimbo bullshit.
