Me Against The Music
You wonder how the hell the girl got dubbed a vocalist in the first place.
‘Me Against The Music’, the first single to be taken from her fourth (!) studio album, should have been the song that fuelled Britney’s re-ascension to the regal quarters of the pop world. Instead, it sees her croaking like a tuneless frog over a backdrop of dodgy beats in such a bizarre manner that you wonder how the hell the girl got dubbed a vocalist in the first place. Madonna’s there too cracking her Evil Queen’s whip; each blow destroying another chunk of your love for pop music. “Hey Britney, You say you wanna lose control, Come over here I got something to show you,” she cackles. “Sexy lady, I’d rather see you bare your soul.” The horror.
