Matthew Shipp Trio makes live Irish debut
Matthew Shipp Trio will perform three live shows this month on their first Irish tour.
The acoustic jazz trio, led by pianist Matthew Shipp, will kick off their Irish tour on April 23 at Triskel Arts Centre in Cork, moving on to The Sugar Club, Dublin, on April 24, and Sonic Arts Research Centre, Belfast, on April 25.
The band are well-seasoned on the New York live jazz circuit, and Shipp's piano playing has been hailed by some critics as the most inventive jazz performance of the generation.
