Mark Lanegan Returns to Dublin
Former Screaming Trees rocker announces show at The Academy
Mark Lanegan last played Ireland at Slane Castle, supporting Guns N’ Roses. Now, the singer-songwriter announces his Irish return at The Academy on 6 December.
The alt-rock artist released his newest album, Gargoyle, this April after some difficulties finding inspiration. Lanegan’s writer’s block was solved after he got an email from English musician, Rob Marshall. An old friend, Marshall was writing to thank Lanegan for his help on a project, and offered to return the favour by writing some music. Hot Press’ Peter McGoran praised the album in his review as a “a beautifully executed record from a man who still has surprises up his flannel sleeve.”
Lanegan will be joined by English rock group, Tenebrous Liar, and former member of The Icarus Line, Joe Cardamone.
Tickets are €28 and go on sale this Friday, 30th June at 9am. Buy via ticketmaster.ie
