Madra Salach announce record store tour

Dublin alternative band Madra Salach have announced a record store tour, with 7 dates across Ireland in January.

The six-piece will visit The Grand Social in Dublin on January 7, Cork's Savoy on the 9th, Limerick's Dolans on the 10th, Roísín Dubh in Galway on the 11th and Kilkenny's Set Theatre on the 12th, before heading to England. They then return to Ireland on January 27, with a show at Empire in Belfast, before rounding out the dates on the 28th at Derry's Guildhall.

They will be playing with independent record stores, including Spindizzy Records, Music Zone, Steamboat Records, Bending Sound and more.

The shows come in celebration of their debut album Gorta, out January 15, 2027 via Island Records. They released the record's first single, 'Ribbon Factory', on October 2.

Meanwhile, the band are currently touring North America, with stops in Washington, New York and Toronto. They will return to Ireland in December, performing sold-out shows in Waterford, Limerick, Dublin, Belfast, Galway, Kilkenny and Cork.

Following the record store tour in January, they will set out on a tour of Europe and the UK, with a show in Belfast on April 11, 2027 and three homecoming Vicar Street dates in Dublin on April 14, 15 and 16.

They are also set to support Fontaines D.C. at their Slane Castle show in June 2027.

Madra Salach were recently among several musicians named as BBC Radio 6 Music's Artists of the Year. Other musicians on the list include Fontaines D.C., Charli XCX, Phoebe Bridgers, beabadoobee and more.

"We're so excited to be one of 6 Music's Artists of the Year!" they shared in a statement. "Thanks to everyone at 6 for all the support particularly on our upcoming album. You took a chance on some bashful Irish boys, we won't let you down. We promise."

Earlier this year, the band released their debut EP It's a Hell of an Age, which reached No. 3 on the Official Irish Albums Chart and topped the Irish Independent Chart. It also broke into the Top 10 of the UK Official Independent Albums Chart.

Ticket and album bundles for their record store tour go on sale Friday at 11 am here.
