Lobby Bar closed temporarily
Cork's Lobby Bar will be closed this weekend following licensing issues with the Gardai
The Lobby in Cork has been forced to close its doors for the weekend after falling foul of the local Gardai.
Says a spokeswoman for the venue: "Two gardai came in yesterday (Thursday) night and closed us down over a license problem. They went around to some others bars who've remained open, but we've decided to remain shut until Monday so as to get the situation sorted properly."
Stressing that it's "something we're confident we can resolve", she revealed that Chris Smither's Saturday and Sunday night Lobby shows have been moved to the nearby Cyprus Avenue venue.
"It's been a bit frantic, but we didn't want to let Chris' fans down and the Cyprus Avenue people have brilliant."
