Live stand-up in 2012

With 2011 all but over, we look forward to 2012, a year which, going by today's announcements, is set to be jam-packed with laughs. To get you giggling in January, two fine comedians will be taking to stages in Dublin. Rising star Josie Long (you may know her from appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats will play Whelan's on Friday January 20. And then on to the big one, and summertime. The witty, fiercely intelligent and always challenging Stewart Lee is set to step onto the Vicar Street stage for two dates in May. If you like your comedy to be a little bit high brow and metaphysical, the quiffed curmudgeon will perform January 17 and 18.
