LISTEN: Classic Nina Simone album gets the remix treatment

DJ Maestro has curated the remix version of Nina Simone’s seminal 1958 album Little Girl Blue, which drops on April 22 and includes ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’, ‘I Loves You Porgy’, ‘African Mailman’ and the title-track which has been transformed into a Screamadelica-esque piano anthem.
Interest in Simone, who came to Dublin in 1999 to pick up her Hot Press Lifetime Achievement Award, remains at an all-time high thanks to the Oscar-nominated What Happened, Miss Simone? documentary and accompanying book.
