Our Rough Trade double bill kicks off with a divinely chilling ballad from The Veils. ‘Lavinia’ is a heady number laced with intricate guitar work, sneering Brian Molko-esque vocals and climatic moments from the Jeff Buckley School Of Crescendo. However such musings are quickly cast into the shade by the fire-breathing rock stomp of hotly tipped Eastern Lane’s ‘Feed Your Addiction’ – a frenetic amalgam of riffs, cave man-ish rhythms and incomprehensible vocals. Needless to say, we love it.
