Laura Izibor cracks the US Top 30
Let The Truth Be Told is in at number 27.
There’s some great news from the States where Laur Izibor has debuted at number 27 on the mainstream chart with Let The Truth Be Told.
The collection has sold 16,000 copies, which is three thousand fewer than George Harrison’s Let It Roll, which is in at number 24. Other new entries include The Jonas Brothers (number one/247,000 copies); Incubus (5/70,000); Michael Buble (14/30,400); Hank Williams Jr. (19/21,600); and Will Downing (22/20,000).
Currently running round America with Maxwell, Laura heads to Japan in August for six Billboard Live showcase gigs, nips home at the start of September for the Electric Picnic and then hooks up with John Legend for another bout of US gigging.
And lest we forget, you can also find the Dubliner on the cover of the new Hot Press Yearbook.
In other pop news, her fellow 2fm Song Contest winner Ruth-Anne Cunningham has co-written three of the songs that will feature in September on the debut Pixie Lott album, Turn It Up.
