Jennifer

The second single to be lifted from his Twenty Twenty Fiction album, ‘Jennifer’ isn’t a match for its predecessor, the excellent ‘Amerikan Folk Song.’ Though the Portlaoise man’s fragile and shivering vocal remains endearing, this lacks that extra spark. The thump and vitality, that the opening drum beat promises, never arrives. A pity because there are some fine moments on Twenty Twenty Fiction – ‘Jennifer’ just isn’t one of them.
