Jay Z's 'Magna Carta' fails to hit No. 1
Kodaline fend off challenge of rap superstar to retain No. 1 position in Irish album chart...
Jay Z's 'Magna Carta… Holy Grail' album was expected to blow away the competition on its way to scaling the summit of every album chart in Europe.
But in Ireland, it didn't reckon on the success of Kodaline's 'In a Perfect World' which retains its position at the top of the album chart for a 4th successive week.
Jay Z's first album in four years has received mixed reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. It has now failed to dislodge the Dublin rock quartet from their perch atop the Irish album charts.
Elsewhere, Swedish remix artist, Avicii stays at No. 1 in the singles chart with 'Wake Me Up.' After 11 weeks in the charts, Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' is doggedly hanging in there at No. 2 in the singles list.
16 year old Jordan Egan, who suffers from a rare genetic order, has gone in at No. 8 with 'Easy For An Angel', a song penned by her mother on the pressures of coping with the condition.
