Jamie Duffy announces National Concert Hall show and releases new single ‘Rising’
The 24-year-old received previous success with his single 'Solas', which became a hit track across social media
Jamie Duffy has released his new single 'Rising' and announced he will play Dublin’s National Concert Hall later this year.
The Dublin show takes place on October 12, the same weekend he releases his self-titled debut album.
The Monaghan folk-classical composer recorded the album between Ireland, London and Iceland, with BAFTA winner and Emmy-nominated composer Atli Örvarsson as executive producer.
It also features Irish composer and musician Colm Mac Con Iomaire.
“The beauty of instrumental music is that these tunes will mean something different to everyone," said Duffy.
"The inspiration for my first single from the coming album, ‘Rising’, is Ireland, from imposing landscapes to the madness and beauty I’ve experienced in Irish society, particularly since moving to Dublin."
Duffy has also completed his first feature film score for 500 Miles, starring Bill Nighy and Maisie Williams, due for release later this year.
His track 'Solas' became the most-streamed debut by an Irish artist since Hozier’s 'Take Me To Church', amassing over 120 million Spotify streams, 26 million YouTube views and 6.6 billion TikTok views.
Last year, Duffy released the EP On A Wing, with its lead single 'Torus' topping streaming charts.
He also sold out his first Irish headline tour and supported Andrea Bocelli and Hans Zimmer at Hyde Park.
Tickets for the National Concert Hall show range from €15 - €29.50, with a 10% discount for group bookings of 10 or more.
General sale opens Wednesday, August 13 at 10 am, with presale from Monday, August 11 at 10 am.
Duffy will also perform at the Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny on October 16, and the Iontas Theatre & Arts Centre, Monaghan on October 10. Tickets for both go on sale August 13 at 10 am.
