Simple Minds announce new album Sacrosanct and 3Arena show
The Glaswegian band have released their new single 'Beginner Boys' ahead of album drop.
Simple Minds have announced the release of their new album Sacrosanct on January 29, 2027. They have also announced a 3Arena show on May 17, 2027.
To mark the release of the album, the band have released lead single 'Beginner Boys.' Lead vocalist Jim Kerr took inspiration for the song from his relationship with his twin grand-sons.
He reflects on what it means to raise good men today and "how strength, tenderness, courage, and gentleness might still belong together, even when the wider culture around them can send mixed signals."
"It’s less a statement than a question I hope they’ll spend their lives answering for themselves," said Kerr.
The group have announced their V tour. The worldwide tour begins in February 2027, spanning dates in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the UK, and ending in Dublin.

Gary Numan and Level 42 have been named as the supporting acts.
Since the release of their 2022 album, Direction of the Heart, Simple Minds have made a documentary chronicling their career, published a joint memoir, and embarked on a global tour in 2025, during which they wrote their new album.
Simple Minds originally formed in Glasgow in 1977, named after a David Bowie lyric from his 1972 single The Jean Genie.
They band have sold over 60 million records worldwide, and have had five UK No. 1 albums over the course of their career. Their hit single 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' recently joined the Spotify Billions Club.
Tickets go on sale at 9.30 am on Friday 11 September here.
