Ricky Warwick on course for career-best with Fire & Vengeance at No. 6 on UK chart
The former Thin Lizzy frontman released a new album last Friday.
Ricky Warwick is on track for a career-best UK chart performance with his new album Fire & Vengeance ranking No. 6 in the UK midweek Top 40 album chart.
The album was released on Friday, September 4. Warwick has also released the music video for 'The Angels' Share', one of the album's more personal songs.
"'The Angels’ Share’ was inspired by visiting Tupelo Hardware, where Elvis bought his first guitar, and the tiny house where he grew up," Warwick said.
"Standing in those places had a profound effect on me — a powerful reminder that the humblest beginnings can shape a life and change rock ’n’ roll forever."
Fire & Vengeance features several musicians including Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) and Darren Holden (The High Kings).
Originally from Co. Down, Warwick got his start in the late 80s with the band New Model Army. He formed The Almighty in 1988 along with Andy 'Tantrum' McCafferty, Stump Monroe, and Floyd London. The band remained active until 2007.
He was invited to join Thin Lizzy in 2009 as lead vocalist and guitarist, he joined the band on their 2011 tour, which commemorated the 25-year anniversary of original frontman Phil Lynott's death.
Warwick co-founded the Thin Lizzy spin-off band, Black Star Riders in 2012. The band's third album, Heavy Fire, released in 2017, reached No. 6 on the UK album charts.
Following the album's release, Ricky Warwick will be going on tour in the UK and Ireland in November, with shows in Limerick, Dublin, and Belfast.
Tickets for the shows can be found here.
