Release date for George Michael's The Faith Tour live album and concert film announced

The live album and concert film of George Michael's 1988 Faith tour will be released in November.

The concert film George Michael: The Faith Tour will be released on November 4, with the accompanying live album dropping on November 6. The album and film are being released in partnership with Mercury Studios and Sony Entertainment.

The concert film consists of restored footage filmed at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in 1988, one of the stops during the European leg of George Michael's first solo tour. The film is directed by frequent collaborators David Austin and Andy Morahan. The movie features a short film, Finding Faith, directed by Mary McCartney.

The live album contains 18 tracks of unreleased recordings, and will be released by Sony Music. The album includes live renditions of singles from his 1987 album Faith, like 'Father Figure' and 'One More Try.' The album also includes several of George Michael's own versions of other artists songs, like Stevie Wonder’s 'Love's in Need of Love Today.'

Faith was released in 1987, and was written, produced, and performed almost entirely by Michael. The album won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Following it's release, Michael became the only British male artist ever to achieve four U.S. No. 1 singles from a single album on the Billboard Hot 100.

George Michael passed away in 2016 at age 53. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
