A video clip of a 10-year-old girl with ADHD and Autism singing a brilliantly moving cover version of Leonard Cohen’s classic ‘Hallelujah’ has become a major social media hit.
The YouTube video clip of Kayleigh Rogers singing the song has clocked up over 71,000 hits and counting since being uploaded only two days ago.
The Northern Irish girl’s performance with her schoolmates accompanying her as a choir left the adult audience in tears at end-of-year Christmas shows in County Down.
“She'd be a very quiet little girl, but when she sings, she just opens up,” says her school principle, Colin Millar.
Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy radio show yesterday, the girl’s mother said: “Kayleigh's voice is what Christmas is all about...[it] has touched everybody.”
When asked about the global reaction to the song, the talent singer told Ray D’Arcy, “I feel loved.”
