Jane's Addiction part ways after year of lawsuits
Frontman Perry Farrell also issued an apology to the band for his past behaviour.
American alternative band Jane's Addiction have announced their split after 15 months of lawsuits.
The band, formed in 1985 and known for tracks such as 'Been Caught Stealing', announced they would be parting ways to not disrupt the "legacy" of the band following a tumultuous year and the cancellation of their reunion tour.
"to clarify the events surrounding the cancellation of the tour after the show in Boston in September 2024," the band wrote in a statement. "After that show, without notice to Perry, we unilaterally determined it would be best to not continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry’s mental health which we regret.”
The statement refers to an incident which saw frontman Perry Farrell inciting an on-stage fight with guitarist Dave Navarro. His fellow band members stated their US reunion tour would be canceled as a result of the incident and the frontman's "pattern of behaviour and mental health difficulties".

Following the initial lawsuit, Farrell had shot back with his own legal complaints, accusing his bandmates of bullying and harassment.
Prior to yesterdays break-up announcement, Farrell finally apologised for the incident.
"To everyone in Boston, and around the world," wrote Farrell. "I’d like to address what happened on stage last year. I’ve reflected on it and know I didn’t handle myself the way I should have. I apologise to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show."
In July, the band released their final single 'Imminent Redemption' and additionally performed a headline show at the Trinity College Summer Series.
