Ireland to get twin outdoor country music festivals
Full details of the cross-border events will be announced next Monday.
Ireland is to get a new outdoor country music festival operating with interchanging bills on both sides of the border.
Aiken Promotions will announce full details at simultaneous press conferences taking place in the two locations involved at 11am on Monday December 5. Needless to say, Hot Press will be on hand to bring you all the news as it breaks.
Nashville has long recognised the importance of the Irish market, with the likes of Steve Earle, Nanci Griffith and Dixie Chicks gaining early toeholds here before going on to conquer the rest of Europe.
More recently, such major Stateside stars as Sturgill Simpson, Kip Moore and Dirks Bentley have played intimate getting-to-know-you gigs in Dublin.
Irish fans also have March 10-12’s Country 2 Country shindig in Dublin’s 3Arena to look forward to, which will bring the Zac Brown Band, Marty Stuart, Maren Morris, Brad Paisley, Chris Young, Jennifer Nettles, Cam, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, Hunter Hayes and Dan + Shay to the North Wall.
