Pierce Turner announces intimate live gig in Wexford
The performance marks the 39th anniversary of his second album The Sky and the Ground
Pierce Turner has announced a live performance at The Nock, Wexford on July 4.
This event marks the 39th anniversary of Turner's second solo album, The Sky and the Ground. The album holds special ties to Wexford, having inspired the name of one of the town's most popular pubs.
Turner will be joined by a full band, including his long-time collaborator, Fred Parcells (Trombone), flying in from New York, Aongus Macamlaigh (Cello), and the Basceville Byrne brothers: Cillian (Guitar) and Lorcan (Drums).
Born in Wexford in 1956, Turner is widely known for his blend of traditional Irish styles, folk-rock, pop, and avant-garde music.
Tickets are €35 and are available at the Wexford Arts Centre. Patrons can bring their own drinks to the performance.
