Jack White reacts to Donald Trump's new golden statue in Florida

Rock musician and longtime critic of Donald Trump, Jack White, has reacted online to the unveiling of the US President's new golden statue.

White shared an image of the statue with the caption: "MAGA Evangelical Leaders Gather in Mar-a-Lago to Bless and Dedicate a Gold Statue to Donald Trump".

"The most frustrating part of modern American life is the attempt to make sense of people who don't even CARE that they make no sense at all", White added.

The gold statue, dubbed "Don Colosuss", depicts Trump raising his first in the same way he did after surviving his assassination attempt in July 2024.

Before the unveiling, the statue was blessed by Pastor Mark Burns, Trump's longtime spiritual advisor.

Burns held up his phone to the microphone to play a message from Trump.

"I want to thank Mark Burns. He's a good pastor, he's a good man", said the US President. "I've known him a long time, he's been with me right from the beginning, maybe about two days later...I want to thank everybody there. I know it was done from love".

It's not the first time White has criticised Trump this year.

Last month, he called the President the, "worst American of all time", after Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself depicted as Jesus Christ.

In an Instagram post, White questioned how any Christian could support the politician.

"Hey evangelical Christians? remember that anti-Christ you been squawking about all these years and how he'd present himself as Christlike and bring about the end of days with a final war in the Middle East involving Jerusalem?" he wrote. "Well...check out your boy now!".
