Indie supergroup Mongrel to follow Beirut with Dublin
It’s indie supergroup time on October 15 as the aptly named Mongrel play the Dublin Academy.
Comprising Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, ex-Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson, Babyshambles guitarist Drew McConnell, Reverend & The Makers mainman Jon McClure and rapper Lowkey, they’ll have a self-titled album out to coincide.
Claiming to be influenced by Crass and Public Enemy – we can’t hear it ourselves – the band have posted four songs on myspace.com/wearemongrel, and are readying themselves for an August 22 show in Beirut.
