In the new Hot Press: The Annual Christmas Summt
The great and the good of Irish music pulled up a chair alongside moderator, peacekeeper and provocateur-in-chief Stuart Clark to put the world to rights as 2015 draws to a close
Every year, while Saint Nick is making his list and checking it twice, Hot Press pulls in some famous friends for our annual summit; a round-table discussion of the year that was.
This year saw Niamh Farrell of HamsandwicH, Thomas Walsh of Pugwash, Craig Fitzgerald of The Academic, Gemma Doherty of Saint Sister, and Daniel Anderson and Stefan Murphy - aka Anderson and The Mighty Stef respectively, and completely of themselves thank you very much - troop to the basement bar of the Chelsea Drugstore for a balls-out discussion of 2015.
On the agenda? Door-to-door album sales, the frightening notion of President Trump, the best albums, gigs and films of the year, the marriage referendum, Stef's recollection of playing Le Bataclan just one month before the horrific attack, Christmas party pieces, and the joys of Hamburg's Red Light District... and that's barely scraping the surface!
To figure out how on earth the conversation touched all those bases, read the whole thing in the new issue of Hot Press, on shelves today!
