King Princess announces new album Girl Violence and Dublin date
She will play in Dublin’s Vicar Street on December 3.
King Princess has announced the release of her third record, Girl Violence, for September 12.
The Brooklyn-based musician also announced her accompanying North American, UK and EU tour, including a date in Dublin's Vicar Street on December 3.
Following the release of the album’s first single ‘RIP KP’ in early June, King Princess also put out the track ‘Cry Cry Cry’, which she describes as a “cathartic blast of guitar-driven vengeance, taking aim at fake friends, queer-baiters, and anyone who ever made her feel small.”

Speaking of the new record, King Princess, aka Mikaela Straus, comments: “Girl violence is very sneaky. It's not physical, it’s deeply emotional, spiritual, and spooky. Women are both amazing and sinister—including myself—and it's my curiosity to understand all the love, loss, and changes that come out of my love for women.
“Why are we so inclined to cause and receive chaos?” she continues. “If you've experienced even an iota of it, then you'll have a story to tell. And these are mine.”
The announcement of Girl Violence comes in the midst of Straus’ television debut, as she stars in the current season of Nine Perfect Strangers, alongside Nicole Kidman. Later this year, she will make her film debut in Song Sung Blue, an upcoming movie starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.
