Iggy Azalea downplays matching Beatles' accomplishment

In an interview with Billboard Magazine, Iggy Azalea defended her credibility while also speaking of her recent record breaking success.

Since she's began to garner mainstream attention, Azalea has garnered criticism for adjusting her Australian speaking voice into a Southern twang for her rapping appearances and putting on the front of what an outsider would expect a rapper to seem like while ignoring the fact that she's actually from Australia.

"One critic was like, 'Why didn't you talk about more Australian things?' I don't understand why I'm supposed to write a song about living in the outback and riding a kangaroo to be authentic."

On matching The Beatles' success in securing the top two singles in the Billboard Hot 100, Azalea claimed it "doesn't mean anything" while professing that she would rather be like The Rolling Stones. It's unclear if it's a reference to her preference in music or to The Rolling Stones exceedingly longer lifespans.
