Ian Curtis: 30 Years Dead Today
Singer died on 18 May 1980 aged just 23.
It makes Hot Press feel very old when we think that Ian Curtis, lead singer and songwriter with Joy Division died this day thirty years ago.
Whatever has been written about Curtis' personal life, the music he was responsible for lives on through songs like 'New Dawn Fades' and 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.
Joy Division have also provided the inspiration for many of today's musicians including Interpol, Editors, U2 and The Cure.
